Hi, the ColorMFA was installed in my UK VW Golf Mk4 in 2018. The car is an immo2 and the instrument cluster is an immo3 with full FIS screen. All cluster functions work as they should. The CCM is model No# 1J0959799AH and has the addition wires fitted to connect to the cluster Canbus pins. All the ColorMFA functions work as expected including the Doors / Hatch open displays.
My question is: I have recently connected an additional wire from the Hood switch circuit (brown/red wire bridged from CCM T15/1) to the Green Cluster Plug T32/22 (pin 22). This pin position was originally vacant in my plug. However the Hood Open warning does not show. The hood sensor switch is new and works and there is continuity at the Cluster T32/22 pin when the hood is open.
Is there any reason why the Hood Open does not show, it is strange because the doors or hatch do display in the FIS when they are open.
[the firmware is still the version used when the ColorMFA was installed (b5dr_v2.9.4b24) but I will be updating it to the latest soon]
Hood Open does not show in FIS display
F266 - bonnet (hood) switch must be directly connected to Cluster T23a/22
If you have a central control unit for the comfort system (J393) with anti-theft alarm system, it must also be connected to T15/5.

Thanks for reply Autopilot
The wire going to T32a/22 was from my CCM T15/1 (pin 1) as that's where my hood switch wire (brown/red coded wire which is the correct wire for the hood switch alarm) is located [this for my CCM 1J0959799AH]. I did note that there are some instructions around that say take the wire from CCM T15/5 (pin 5) but that is for the later dynamic canbus CCM with 1C0 prefix but on my CCM there is a lilac/yellow wire in that slot 5 which then goes to the Blue cluster plug T32/12 which is for Generator warning light. That's why I tapped into the CCM T15/1 pin instead (this wire has continuity with the hood alarm switch).
Maybe the 'Open Hood' display function is not compatible with my CCM module 1J0959799AH (whilst it is for the 1C0 prefix comfort module where the brown/red wire does indeed go the T15/5). Still I find it strange that it does not work with my set up as essentially there is an earth signal going the Cluster T32a/22 when the hood is open but the ColorMFA does not register and display the open hood display.
I would like to get the hood open display working on the ColorMFA but at the moment cannot find any solution.

Try this:
1. Go to debug mode, in menu System->Debug->Hardware->Inputs. Open/close the hood and check the state of the 7th input. If the state changes, then just update the firmware to latest. If nothing changes, proceed to point 2.
2. Connect a separate wire to the green connector, to contact 22. There, in the menu System->Debug->Hardware->Inputs, look at the state of input 7 and close/open the connected wire to ground. If the state changes, then you have problems with the wiring to the hood sensor. If the status does not change, it is possible that the instrument panel lacks elements to support the display of the hood (this is possible if this is a panel for the American market and was originally without a screen).
3. It is also possible that the wire from the ColorMFA from TrInput 7 is not connected to the instrument panel in the green connector on pin 22.
Debug mode:
Enable "Debug" mode: Go to Screensave, very long press "Down", on lower left corner displayed "debug_on"
Disable "Debug" mode: Go to Screensave, very long press "Down", on lower left corner "debug_on" is disappeared

Hi Autopilot
I like your suggested fault tests ....... I will give them a try.

Hi ......... So I again tested for the earth signal at the Hood alarm switch, the intermediate connector, the CCM terminal T15/1, and Cluster T32a/22 and the meter was showing an earth continuity at all of these points when the hood was open. But still no 'hood open' display.
So I updated to the latest firmware and YES ! ...... I got the Hood open display in the ColorMFA FIS display.
This is great, thanks for help & input on this Autopilot
* there was just one thing I expected to be updated in the latest accumulative firmware: was the old firmware (b5dr_v2.9.4b24) I had installed showed my (RH drive car) 'Drivers door' open as the Passenger door, I thought this had been remedied in an earlier firmware update (v2.9.4_b26 : 'fix: show doors in RHD immo2) was this not the case?

First check the CCM codings. Everything should be coded correctly for right-hand drive cars.
If the coding is correct, but ColorMFA still displays the door location incorrectly, then go to the Debug menu (System→Debug→ Software→ Forcing) and set the "RightStWheel" option. Not all vehicles support automatic steering wheel position detection. This option forces the steering wheel to be on the right.
