ColorMFA

I've just had colourMFA installed into my IMMO3 cluster (2003 Bora V6 2.8L), together with needle sweep and what installer recommended "cruise control led mod".

I now can't start the car. Engine cuts out after 1 second - see video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qhTUIWK_rs.
Also sounds like the fuel pump is constantly priming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKBTFPvrQ7U(when key is in ON position).

VCDS reports a bunch of trouble codes, even when cleared these all return.
Before colourMFA install, I used to have a clean VCDS report and car worked fine.

Before fitting the colourMFA, car had new aftermarket head unit, driver and rear passenger side new door lock modules and driver window button module fitted.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Check all connections. I think you messed something up.
You definitely did not connect the CAN bus wires correctly. There are dashes on the screen instead of data.

The oil level shows on MFA, does that mean anything?


I check head unit to confirm K line is not connected.

This is data from a comfort CAN bus.
Where is the data from the motor CAN bus?

I've just checked it, screen shows "no data"

because it is not connected correctly... please check it.

What should I check?

HS and LS in bottom left of the MFA circuit board?

CAN_L Motor from ColorMFA must be connected to pin 20 in green cluster socket.
CAN_H Motor from ColorMFA must be connected to pin 19 in green cluster socket.

If you connect wires as on photo: check correct connection. May be you swap wires (CAN_H connected to point for CAN_L and CAN_L connected to point for CAN_H).

Check only Motor CAN. Comfort CAN is connected correctly.

Thanks mate. Turned out there was a short circuit.
Installer redid the connection.
Car turns on now!
