На 8Р ездят люди с цветными. Пока каких-то существенных проблем не обнаружено.

Hello.
From the last batch I bought ColorMFA for my A3 8P as well. After flashing the display about 3-4 times to describe the remaining small problems, to my surprise I came here:

It's clear to me that I messed up somewhere (I probably flashed the flash directly, forgetting about the code first). But, now the problem is that I don't have a Service button. At 8E there is, but at me 8P is not. How do I restore the functionality of the display? Currently updating with version "a3_8p_xxx_v2.9.4b30".

The firmware consists of two files. Code and data (flash). You must download both files of the same firmware version.
If you download only one of the files, you will receive a message like in the photo above.
For 8E kits:
A short circuit of Input2 to ground while ColorMFA is powered: simulate pressing the "Service" button.
A short circuit or Input2 to ground before powering ColorMFA - this will allow you to enter the bootloader immediately upon power-up.

I soldered a cable to Trinput2 and tried giving it to the table with the display working, as well as starting the display with a table cable. No change. He's still bricked.

Input2 (in KEY area) - NOT TrInput2.

After installing the new firmware, I noticed that there are still a few gaps. The first is that analog wiper fluid monitoring has not yet been added. This time I will mount the display on a dashboard without a factory display, which has no set monitoring of the wiper fluid. That is, there is no way to account for it. For this it is necessary to add this functionality before Trinput1.
The next thing I notice is that specific addresses for computers can be added and cannot be accessed for diagnostics due to their lack in the list. Here is a list of addresses:
10 - Park/Steer Assist
19 - CAN Gateway
22 - All-Wheel-Drive
25 - Immobilizer
42 - Door Elect, Driver
44 - Steering Assist
47 - Sound System
52 - Door Elect, Pass.
62 - Door, Rear Left
72 - Door, Rear Right
7D - Aux. Heat

I will continue with the editing next week and will do a detailed tutorial.

This ECU is available in list but may be disabled by default for 8P:
19 - CAN Gateway
22 - All-Wheel-Drive
25 - Immobilizer
44 - Steering Assist
47 - Sound System
7D - Aux. Heat

You can enable it in hidden menu. Debug->ECU List
All other (doors) I will add in next update.

Wiper fluid warning must work on TrInput3.

All TrInput's is grounded by default (pull-down resistor on ColorMFA PCB).
If you want to use this input for wiper fluid on cluster what do not supported wiper fluid connection (some clusters do not support wiper fluid warnings), you need to add additional components to this connection (minimum is a pull-up resistor and diode connected to constant +12V).

But how is it done on A4 8E and ColorMFA for example. There is exactly the same principle of indication, but we do not add pull up resistors.

In 8E does not used additional connection for wiper fluid. ColorMFA use CAN-bus data for this warning.

Most of VW cars, A6C5 and many others need additional connection to TrInput for this warning (data on CAN-bus is not present). But ColorMFA connected to original cluster schematic (where also connected original wiper fluid sensor). On cluster schematic already present all components if cluster supported this sensor.

Again, your fluid reading did not work. I tried to pull-up Trinput with a 1 kiloohm resistor, but the display did not detect an washer fluid error.

I think, so as not to wander in a circle (for two years now), let me explain a little further the situation with the Audi 8P. When the car comes with a dashboard that does not have a FIS display or has an automatic transmission and the customer has not paid for a trip computer, then the car does not have a factory-installed Washer fluid sensor. Therefore, these boards do not monitor the logic zero of the sensor at all, nor do they generate and / or distribute any Wash fluid CAN messages. In absolutely all cases, when installing ColorMFA on the dashboard of the Audi A3 8P, it is necessary to read the level of the wiper fluid in the old-fashioned way, as it happens with the A3 8L and C5, B5. This is because if a panel with a FIS display is used, it is necessary to completely turn off the trip function, which automatically deactivates the monitoring of the input of wash fluid.

I still don't understand why the monitoring in the software shouldn't be done in exactly the same way as with A3 8L and C5, B5.
Indeed, there is no other way to visualize this error.

I tested the washer fluid alarm (8P firmware). Everything works as it should.
There are some delays for vehicles in which the data is read directly from the sensor. When moving, the liquid can "splash" quite strongly. To exclude false alarms, alarm delays were introduced. In the same way as it is done in the original algorithms of the dashboards A6C5 and VW Passat.
To check, connect the TrInput3 to +12 through the resistance (or directly) and wait a while.
